Following Ifor Ffowcs-Williams’ participation at a cluster training workshop held in Johannesburg, four IT firms in Cape Town invited Ifor to lead a first cluster workshop.  This workshop, held in 1998, was opened by South Africa’s IT Minister, and attracted 150 stakeholders from across the cluster. At that time it was the largest gathering in Cape Town of the local IT community. During the workshop the priorities in moving the cluster forward were identified, and initial action teams established. The momentum gained from this one workshop has led to a very sustainable cluster process, which continues to evolve. See     www.citi.org.za
